End of the rebate
End of June 2023 marked the end of ADS-b rebate. While this make installing an ADS-b unit more of a cost, we see it as an essential safety tool as out skies get busier. In fact, we have a number of operators who were flying during the aftermath of Cyclone Gabriel who have advocated for it since saying the peace of mind while flying in congested airspace was invaluable.
ADS-b mandate in sight
the ADS-b mandate is now well within sight. Coming into effect on the 31st of December 2022, this means you will need to have a minimum of ADS-b out fitted to be able to enter controlled airspace. With unit supply under pressure, if you think you're going to need this capability we suggest you make the call now to secure a unit. Rebate payments have been extended till the 30th of June 2023 which gives a little more time to claim.
